Fall/Winter Hair Care Routine

Hey there lovelies!

Since the fall/winter weather is finally kicking in here in NYC I thought I would share with you my hair care routine. As I mentioned before, I haven't been wearing my own hair out, I've been wearing a curly quick weave. The quick weave allows me to take care of my own hair when needed unlike if I had a sew-in so when I remove the unit I focus on moisturizing my hair.

Washing my hair:
I rarely co-wash my hair anymore because I use products in my hair on a daily basis so when I do wash my hair I use Tresseme' Naturals which is a low sulfate shampoo to get rid of the product buildup. I then use a regular conditioner like Herbal Essences Hello Hydration conditioner to detangle and rinse.

Deep Conditioning:
Ok, so I was on the fence about buying this conditioner. Organix always has mixed reviews and in my opinion its not the absolute best but it does the job. For more moisture I added Jamaican castor oil. I make sure to deep condition once a week.

Moisturizing:
This is extremely important because this cold weather tends to dry out our hair faster than in Spring/Summer. I recently bought Cantu Shea Butter leave-in and I will post a full review in a week or 2 since I am still testing it out. To seal in the moisture I use Hollywood Beauty Tea Tree Oil which also helps with itchy scalp. During the week I spray my hair with a mixture of water and a moisturizer such as Miss Jessie's Quick curls or Cantu Shea Butter just to replenish the moisture in my hair then use ISOPLUS Castor Oil to seal in the moisture & oil my scalp.

Hope this helped with your hair care routine for Fall/Winter!

  1. How well does the Tresemme Naturals work? And have you tried Cantu Coconut leave-in?
