Have you ever completely ruined your favorite tube of lipstick? Maybe it melted in your car or the top fell off in your bag, maybe you just want to be able to use a tube of lipstick in your MUA kit in a more sanitary way. Today I will be teaching you how to pot your lipsticks.
You will need:
- lipstick
- empty lipstick pot (I bought mine from Ricky's NYC)
- rubbing alcohol
- blow dryer
- cotton swab/makeup spatula/something to dig the lipstick out the tube
- tissue/paper towel

1. Clean off everything you will be using with the rubbing alcohol to prevent bacteria from getting in the lipstick
2. Wined the tube of lipstick all the way up then break the lipstick into the cleaned lipstick pot
3. Once all of the lipstick is in the pot you can either place it in a dish or mug in order to prevent splatter or leave it out in the open. Just be careful because it my splatter while melting
4. Turn the blow dryer on a high setting & hold it steadily over the pot of lipstick until the lipstick is melted into a liquid (this can take up to 10 mins or more depending on how hot the blow dryer is & the consistency of the lipstick)
5. Once completely melted, let the liquid sit until cooled off & sold
This trick is perfect for anything you want to "de-tube" that is in a cream form! Concealers, color correctors, eye shadow bases, you name it.
